aorist ἀνώρθωσα E Alcaeus1138, Isocrates Orator 5.64, etc.: pluperfect with double augment ἠνωρθώκει variant in Libanius Sophista “Epistulae” 1039: the double augment is common in the compd. ἐπανορθόω :— set up again, restore, rebuild, τὸν νηόν Herodotus Historicus 1.19; τὸ τεῖχος 7.208; τὸ στρατόπεδον Thucydides Historicus 6.88, etc.; τὸ σῶμά τινος Euripides Tragicus “Bacchae” 364: —middle, ἀνορθοῦσθαι τὰ πίπτοντα τῶν οἰκοδομημάτων have them rebuilt, Aristoteles Philosophus “Politica” 1322b20.
