εἶτα adv., denoting sequence; 1. of time; then, next: Mk 8:25, Lk 8:12, Jo 13:5 19:27 20:27, I Ti 3:10, Ja 1:15; seq. gen. abs., Mk 4:17; in enumerations, I Co 15:5, 7, 24, I Ti 2:13. 2. In argument; (a) therefore, then, (b) furthermore: He 12:9 (cf. εἶτεν).†

Ionic dialect εἶτεν (which see, compare ἔπειτα, -εν), adverb, used to denote the Sequence of one act or state upon another:
__I of Sequence in time, without any notion of Cause, then, next, πρῶτα μέν.., εἶτα.. Sophocles Tragicus “Electra” 262, compare Plato Philosophus “Phaedrus” 251a, etc. ; soon, presently, Sophocles Tragicus “Oedipus Tyrannus” 452 ; εἶτα τί τοῦτ; well, what then? Aristophanes Comicus “Nubes” 347, Plato Philosophus “Protagoras” 309a ; εἶτα.. τότε then.. after that, Aristophanes Comicus “Equites” 1036 codices (perhaps τόδε): frequently repeated, sometimes alternating with ἔπειτα, then.., next.., then.., after that.., etc., Menander Comicus 154, etc. ; with πάλιν, “SIG” 1171 ; εἶτ᾽ οὖν also, Scholia Pindarus Lyricus “O.” 7.68.
