Golf van Suez, waar de Israëlieten doortrokken op hun uittocht uit Egypte naar de woestijn van de Sinaï.; 2a) de Indische Oceaan (Herodotus, Histories, 1.180; 2.11, 158; 4.42; etc.) omspoelt de kusten van Arabië en Perzië (Iran) met zijn twee golven, waarvan de oostelijke de Perzische Golf heet (Xenophon, Cyropaedia, 8.6.20; Diodorus, Historical Library, 2.11), de andere ten westen van Arabië de Rode Zee.

  by nature, Aristophanes Comicus “Acharnenses” 787, al.: hence the later Comp. and Sup. are perhaps -ώτερος, -ώτατος, as in Plato Philosophus “Timaeus” 83b, “Epin.” 987c ; but the metre requires -ότερος in Anaxandrides Comicus 22, Dromo Comicus 1, compare Choeroboscus Grammaticus “Scholia in Theodosii Canones” 2.76 :— red, νέκταρ ἐ.
