In 1908 is er op de locatie Tell el-Jazari (het oude Gezer, (30km NW van Jeruzalem) de boerenkalender van Gezer gevonden. Op deze kalender, vermoedelijk geschreven in 925 v.C. staan de zaai- een oogstmaanden. Dit kalkstenen tablet is een van de oudste overblijfselen waar het Hebreeuwse schrift op staat.
