__I a weight, drachm, κρεῶν probably in “IG” 12.10.4, Theophrastus Philosophus “de Odoribus” 17, etc.
__I.2 a silver coin, drachma, worth six obols, Herodotus Historicus 7.144, Andocides Orator 4.18, “IG” 7.3171.52 (Orchom. Boeot.), 9(1).694.54 (Corc.) , etc. The penultimate is long in Simonides Lyricus 157, and sometimes in Comedy texts, Aristophanes Comicus “Vespae” 691 (anap.), “Pax” 1201, “Pl.” 1019, Plato Comicus 174.17 : δαρχμή is found in 5th c.AD(?): Hesychius Legal icographus ; compare δαρκνά.
