μετα-μέλομαι, [in LXX chiefly for נחם H5162: ni.;] depon., pass., to regret, repent one: Mt 21:30, 32 27:3, II Co 7:8, He 7:21(LXX).†

SYN.: μετανοέω G3340, to change one's mind, repent. On the distinction, difficult to maintain by usage, between these words, v. Thayer, s.v.; Tr., Syn., § lxix.
