ἐξαιτ-έω,
  demand or ask for from another, with double accusative, τήνδε μ᾽ ἐξαιτεῖ χάριν Sophocles Tragicus “Oedipus Coloneus” 586, compare Euripides Tragicus “Orestes” 1657, “Supp.” 120 ; ἐ. τινὰ πατρός ask her in marriage from.., Sophocles Tragicus “Trachiniae” 10 ; ἐ. τινά demand the surrender of a person, especially a criminal, Herodotus Historicus 1.74, compare Demosthenes Orator 18.41 (Pass.), “IG” 22.457b17 (4th c.BC) ; demand a slave for torture, Antipho Orator 6.27, Lysias Orator 7.36; τὸν ἐλεύθερον ἐ.
