Karmel: hoe nu verder

Terwijl men op dit moment nog druk bezig is om de verschillende branden te blussen, is er een redelijke kans dat er regen komt. Nu kan men dit enerzijds zien als een verhoring van de vele gebeden, aan de andere kant is het normaal dat bij grote branden de warme lucht omhoog gaat en dat in het vacuüm koudere (zee)lucht wordt aangetrokken, met regen als resultaat.

Ondertussen zijn grote delen bos verbrand en naast de vele mensen zijn er ook veel dieren verbrand omdat die niet op tijd konden vluchten. Ook de flora heeft aanzienlijk schade opgelopen. Een vraag die de Israëlische politici en andere verantwoordelijken zich zullen stellen als de branden geblust zijn is: Hoe nu verder.

Al eerder heeft Israël te maken gehad met branden en één van de onderzoekers die zich met deze vraag heeft bezig gehouden is Ido Izhaki. Hieronder een lijst van een groot artikelen van hem, onderverdeeld betreffende effecten van een bosbrand op de Fauna en Flora.
